SLEEPING!!

SLEEPING

(04-30-11) Jillian snoozing in the car

In the last week Jillian has been making great strides in the sleeping department.  She has finally started consistantly sleeping for 5 hours without waking.  She used to do only 4 most of the time.  Also she is learning how to get herself back to sleep.  For those who don't know we did try the fuss it out method when she was younger, but she would get so upset she would vomit.  Therefore for the longest time she made mommy and daddy very nervous to let her cry to long without getting her. Something about finding her asleep in a pile of vomit...  She is no longer doing this in fact last night we heard her stir around 3 am and only fussed a tiny bit.  I"m guessing she found herself one of the many pacifiers that lined her crib.  We didn't hear from her again until nearly 7 this morning.  It has been nice getting consecutive hours of sleep!

 BUSY WEEKEND

This weekend was busy with playing and visiting.  Friday night we went to Brian and Anna's to celebrate mother's day with them. Jillian had fun playing with her big cousin Benjamin :).  On Saturday morning we hit up some garage sales, followed by lunch with Rick's parents.  We went on a walk around the neighborhood and even took Jillian to the little park at Grace Lutheran Church. Saturday evening Rick went out with the boys for a Bachlor party, a little while later Jess went out to a comedy club with the girls for the bachlorette party. Jillian went to hang out with her meemaw. She ended up staying the night there.  This is the first time Jillian has ever stayed over night anywhere.  She did OK.. but did wake up pretty frequently.  She knew it was different.   Boy where mommy and daddy glad to see her the next morning, but not too early since we slept in after being up till 2am!

(05-15-11) Jillian in her new "car"

The car was the best garage sale find of the day.  I found a few clothes and some cute rain boots.  I did also manage to snag a booster seat.  She has really liked playing in Amy's car so she knew jsut what to do with this one.

SHOPPING BUDDIES

(04-20-11) Jillian & Chase - ready to help their mommies shop :)

(04-20-11) Chase & Jillian - hey whatcha doing back/up there?!

This double stoller cart at Kohl's is quite challenging to move around the store in. It would help if the wheels would turn properly.  2nd problem is the length of this cart.  There are places that I had to back it out of cause I couldn't turn the corners.

The mommies had a fun time shopping, the kiddos well sorta ;).  Jillian likes to walk all around the store and neither wants to sit in the stroller for too long.  But overall they are very helpful shoppers :).

COME WITH ME

(04-16-11) Jillian carrying around her baby doll. She does this a lot :) This is the proper way to carry a baby right ;)..?

(04-17-11) What'cha doing? Let me have the phone!

Jillian has starting coming up to me and reaching out for my hand so she can lead me places.  It is pretty cute.  She doesn't seem to have a destination in mind.  I think she finds it fun that she can make mommy get up and follow her.  If I am sitting and she wants me to go with her she will grab my hand and tug on it with all her might to get me up.  This so reminds me of what I would do to my daddios all the time when I was younger.

JILLY MONSTER

(4-12-11) Jillian yogurt face

(04-9-11) Chase messing with Jillian's bow

Jillian is learning to feed herself with spoons and even a fork.  She isn't very good at getting the food onto the spoon or fork, but if you put it on for her she can get it to her mouth. It might be a tad messy, which I should point out she seems to like!

Her favorite word is doggie and saying woof, woof.  Hers is more like a little uff, uff or something, but it is very cute.  She also loves to say Kitty, but we are having trouble getting her to say meow.  Probably cause our dogs bark (esp Sarge) and the cat is normally quiet.

Nicknames: Jillian has a few cute nicknames.  She will probably dislike most of these when she gets older, but for now she doesn't care. Jilly, Jilly Monster, Beetle Bug... probably others we call her but that is all the comes to mind right now.

Sunny Days!

(03-17-11) Jillian
(03-17-11) Crawling through a tunnel.

(3-17-11) Swinging with her buddy Chase :)
We have started to have a few nice days and have been taking advantage and been playing outside. There is a little playground within walking distance to our house so we have gone there a few times to play. When we got back from the playground this day I took Jillian out of the stroller and she walked back over and wanted back in. She loves to be outside!

(3-17-11) Video of the kiddos swinging. I love how Chase is kicking his little legs!

1 Year old already!?!

Happy 1st Birthday to our Princess Jillian!

Wearing her special bib

Playing with her cake, since she really wasn't interested in eating any of it. I got her to taste the icing and a bit of cake but she didn't want anything to do with it.

Here she is reaching for me to get her out of her high chair. She didn't understand why I wouldn't just pick her up right away. Had to tackle those hands with a few paper towels.

Messing with the fridge magnets. One of her favorite things to do. She also really enjoys the fridge door to be open so she can explore what is in there.

-------------------

Jillian had a wonderful 1st Birthday party full of lots of family and friends! She was a very lucky girl and got many gifts. She says thank you to everyone for her presents. She already likes clothes and as her auntie Tracie says we are so in "trouble".

For her first birthday her mommy and daddy got her a very cool school bus/slide toy. She is into climbing on anything she can so now she has something that is made for that. She has figured out quickly how to climb in and has even managed to go down the slide on her own a few times. She already wants to climb up the slide instead of walking around to the steps. She is able to make it up to the top by climbing up the slide assuming she has no socks on.

11 Months Old

Jillian is finally starting to get teeth! She has one so far that has broken through the surface and boy is it sharp! When you look in her mouth (on the rare occasion she will let you..) you can see there are more teeth working on coming in.

Her favorite thing to do right now is to be walked around. She can crawl but would by far prefer for you to hold her hands and walk around. She is able to stand for a few seconds at a time. Usually she can stand longer if she doesn't realise she is doing it.

(12-15-10 Jilly playing with Sarge)

Her next favorite thing to do is pick on the animals. Tito (our big white dog) just gets up and walks away. Sarge is really good with her and tolerates her messing with him for quite some time but he too tires of her and gets up and walks away. The funniest thing to us is when the dogs get up and walk away from her and she cries. Sounds mean but you would have to see it. Then there is our cat. She loves Kramer! Can't say the cat shares the same affection. He typically runs from her. Can't say that I blame him.

(1-17-11 "washing dishes")

Jillian likes to help mommy wash dishes. This is only because she is allowed to play in my dishwater and splash it around. She does randomly drop items back in the dishwater that I have just washed. Guess she is trying to tell me I didn't wash them very well ;). Last night she tried to escape out of the sink and crawl onto the counter.. That isn't going to work so well...

SMART LITTLE COOKIE
--------------------------

(12-10-10 Jillian being a little stinker getting in the water dish)

She loves to get into the dogs water dish. As I mentioned before we try to have it blocked off by a chair or two. She recently discovered she could pull the chair away on the tile to get to the water dish. Little stinker!

She doesn't like to let mommy shower.. so I let her stand on the outside of the tub where she can see me. Our shower has a sliding door on it and she figured out she can push it all the way open.. Mommy was not amused. I would tell her no and she just smiles and/or laughs at me. Daddy did finally come in and rescue me. It was hard to keep the shower door closed because even if I close it all the way she still knows how to slide it open. Also a little hard to shower when you are holding the door closed. Don't know about you but I found it rather hard to wash my hair with one hand.
