FUN WITH CORN

(07-31-11) Jillian helping fill freezer boxes with corn from gma & gpa's garden.  She really did pretty good at getting corn in the box.  She had to have a bite every now and then ;).

(07-29-11) Jillian eating corn on the cob for the first time.  I think she likes it.  Watch how big she opens her mouth up for a bite :).

She loves to play with her baby.  She will give you a blanket and "help" you wrap the baby up in it.  Shortly following she will manage to get her unwrapped then bring you the blanket again to wrap her up again.  I have caught her rocking her baby, also bouncy her and saying "shh, shh shh."  Too cute, such a little mommy.  Oh and lets not forget the all important stroller.  She pushes her baby around in this quite a bit as well.

Jillian loves to look at pictures on our cell phones.  When this one comes up in the rotation she always says "mess!, mess!"  She doesn't seem to like messes and it is pretty funny.  Along with this she doesn't like her hands to be dirty.  It can be the tiniest spec and she isn't happy till you get it off.  She will tolerate stuff on her hands while eating, but she usually requests we wipe them off a couple of times while she is eating.  Silly girl!

Not liking messes is just about her hands.  The magnets on the fridge got knocked off to the floor while playing.  When she came back to them later she declared "mess!"  I did get her to help me clean it up.  That is a good skill to learn :).

FUN AT THE FAIR

Jillian did well riding in her stroller at the fair.  There isn't a whole lot of food at the fair that she will eat just yet.  She ate applesauce and french fries.  She of course loved the treats she got a few bites of funnel cake and of course some ice cream.

Wednesday was my dad's day to run the Pork stand at the fair.  I did go out with Jillian and we helped a little bit.  I handed out drinks for a while at lunch while holding Jillian.  At dinner I filled ice in cups while holding Jillian.  She did pretty well with this.  After I had been standing there with her for a while filling drinks she said "all done".  Shortly after this my replacement came in and Jillian and I got to leave the stand.

 (07-09-11) Jillian holding Mia.  She loved this and kept wanting to hold the poor dog.  Mia was good, but did get tired of it and wanted nothing more to do with this little person holding her.

(07-10-11) Jillian talking on my phone.  She loves to walk around saying "hello" but if there is really someone on the other end she doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with it. 

Our weekend of visiting started with Andrea meeting us for lunch in Columbus.  From there we headed down to Sarah & Craig's new house in Clarksville.  After learning that Andrea is expecting her first child in Jan 2012 we went to babies r us to help her select items for her registry. 

Jillian and Amy did well playing together.  Jillian is very possessive of her baby doll and her stroller.  She didn't want Amy to touch those items.  She also really loves Amy's mini recliner chair and didn't seem to want Amy to use it either.  It is hard learning how to share!  We did take the girls to a park which they both really enjoyed. 

We came back Sunday afternoon and Jillian and I took Andrea to the Motherhood maternity outlet where she got some cute clothes she is going to need pretty shortly.  From there we headed out to the County Fair for some yummy food. 

The next morning (Monday morning) when Jillian woke up she was asking form "Mamy".  (That is how she says Amy).  It was pretty cute.

4TH OF JULY

(07-02-11) JILLIAN

For the 4th of July weekend we went to a party at my cousins house.  The little kiddos loved running around on the trampoline.  It was nice for the mommies to because it was a netted area and so we could safely just sit and watch them play for the most part. 

When it came time for the fireworks... well Jillian hated them!  She was terrified of the loud noise they made.  We spent that time safely inside the house.

In the last week Jillian has been making great strides in the sleeping department.  She has finally started consistantly sleeping for 5 hours without waking.  She used to do only 4 most of the time.  Also she is learning how to get herself back to sleep.  For those who don't know we did try the fuss it out method when she was younger, but she would get so upset she would vomit.  Therefore for the longest time she made mommy and daddy very nervous to let her cry to long without getting her. Something about finding her asleep in a pile of vomit...  She is no longer doing this in fact last night we heard her stir around 3 am and only fussed a tiny bit.  I"m guessing she found herself one of the many pacifiers that lined her crib.  We didn't hear from her again until nearly 7 this morning.  It has been nice getting consecutive hours of sleep!

 BUSY WEEKEND

This weekend was busy with playing and visiting.  Friday night we went to Brian and Anna's to celebrate mother's day with them. Jillian had fun playing with her big cousin Benjamin :).  On Saturday morning we hit up some garage sales, followed by lunch with Rick's parents.  We went on a walk around the neighborhood and even took Jillian to the little park at Grace Lutheran Church. Saturday evening Rick went out with the boys for a Bachlor party, a little while later Jess went out to a comedy club with the girls for the bachlorette party. Jillian went to hang out with her meemaw. She ended up staying the night there.  This is the first time Jillian has ever stayed over night anywhere.  She did OK.. but did wake up pretty frequently.  She knew it was different.   Boy where mommy and daddy glad to see her the next morning, but not too early since we slept in after being up till 2am!

The car was the best garage sale find of the day.  I found a few clothes and some cute rain boots.  I did also manage to snag a booster seat.  She has really liked playing in Amy's car so she knew jsut what to do with this one.
